The editor toolbar is there when you need it. Here's what its controls do.
How do I format text?
Use Bold, Italic, Strikethrough and Code to change selected text. The reset control clears inline formatting. The heading menu applies one of five heading levels to the current paragraph.
How do lists and alignment work?
Choose a bulleted or numbered list to organize items. The alignment controls set a paragraph left, center, right or justified. These controls affect the current selection or paragraph.
What do the undo and redo buttons do?
Undo reverses your most recent editor change. Redo restores a change you just undid.
What are the special spacing controls?
The ellipsis control inserts a centered scene break. The lines control adds writing space for a page break, and the paragraph control inserts a new paragraph. Font size and line-height menus let you adjust the editor's reading view.
How do I download my writing?
Use the download control in the writing page to prepare and download the current story text. NovelDraft also keeps your project organized alongside the editor.
Does NovelDraft write the novel for me?
No. You remain the author. NovelDraft is designed to help you write, organize and remember your story; AI assistance is there to support your work when you choose to use it.
